As for tabs, you may not need to learn them yet. However, I will give you a brief lesson on them here for you to correctly understand the basics. They guide you on where to place your fingers to play the chords. There are six vertical lines, which represent six strings.<\/p>\n<p>The string which is at the furthest left is the thickest, and is string E. There are two lines which lie at the box top; they represent the nut, and the other horizontal lines symbolize the frets.<\/p>\n<p>The dots will represent where you need to put your fingers (Left hand). Furthermore, they are numbered, to guide you further on which finger to play with. They are denoted as:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Number 1- the index finger<\/li>\n<li>Number 2- middle finger<\/li>\n<li>Number 3- ring finger<\/li>\n<li>Number 4- pinky finger<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Kindly note that finger numbering of other instruments such as a piano is different from that of the guitar.<\/p>\n<h3>Reading Tabs<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-34\" src=\"https:\/\/www.joegrushecky.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Easy-Guitar-Lesson-for-Beginners1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"439\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.joegrushecky.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/04\/Easy-Guitar-Lesson-for-Beginners1.jpg 560w, https:\\www.joegrushecky.ca\wp-content\uploads\2019\04\easy-guitar-lesson-for-beginners1-300x235.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\"><\/p>\n<p>Guitar tab is a method of writing music. It is ideal for those who do not read music and provides adequate information. Tab- tablature has six horizontal lines. The line at the top is the first and the thinnest while the sixth one is the lowest and thickest.<\/p>\n<p>As a beginner, you only need to play strings that have numbers.
